Part of my ‘Little Things’ Collection
Tambo was the Urushi technique used to create your piece. Uniquely with the Tambo technique the pattern is created using small dried objects, ‘Little Things’, such as rice or pasta (perhaps dinosaur shaped!) These are placed one by one and semi-submerged in a layer of lacquer to help sculpt the pattern. After 24 hours in the Furo they are very carefully removed, leaving behind a raised texture which I build upon by adding successive layers. Can you guess what ‘Little Things’ I used for these earrings? For more info on this incredible technique and Urushi in general check out my 'About Urushi' section.
These exquisite orange yellow and blue earrings pair perfectly with real life. They are super durable and can withstand the day to day knocks and bumps that come with our busy lives. These guys are so strong yet effortlessly wearable and light, so light you'll almost forget they are there!
